Upgrading design workflows by migrating key templates and UI kits from Sketch to Figma

Yoyo Studio reached out to modernize their internal design system by migrating their Wildread product files from Sketch to Figma. Due to declining usage of Sketch and rising adoption of Figma, they needed expert assistance but had limited in-house capacity. Our challenge was to migrate their most critical templates and components, ensuring minimal disruption while optimizing for future use.

Templates
We collaborated with Yoyo Studio to review eight of their existing Sketch files and prioritize the ones that had the highest impact on sales and user flows. From there, we planned a scalable Figma strategy that reused components, optimized templates, and ensured a smooth transition without requiring the full team to upskill immediately.
Reviewed & prioritized legacy files
Migrated high-priority templates
Reused & optimized components
Created scalable Figma styles
Delivered UI kit & documentation

Highlights
We negotiated with the team to migrate only four of the eight Sketch files, focusing on the templates with the highest traffic and commercial value. This made the process more cost-effective and allowed their internal team to gradually migrate remaining files with confidence.

Highlights
As part of the migration, we enhanced their existing UI kit to fully leverage Figma features, including auto layout, components, and reusable styles, ensuring consistency and scalability across all templates.

Highlights
Each migrated file was cleaned up, reorganized, and annotated with Figma best practices. We provided clear documentation to ensure their internal designers could continue building on top of the templates without starting from scratch.

The project was delivered in 2 months, on time and on budget.
We successfully migrated key product files from Sketch to Figma, upgraded their UI kit, and ensured the team had reusable, scalable components for future work.
This allowed Yoyo Studio to continue evolving their product experience while transitioning to a modern design platform without disrupting their roadmap.
